Eddy Current or parasite currents, this essay used to detect the surface and subsurface discontinuations, thus, with conductivity rating tests.
A coil generates a magnetic field, giving rise to the part parasite currents, which, in turn, generate a second magnetic field, an alteration to the part’s material, changing the distribution of the parasite currents, providing the indication of the discontinuation in the device, automatically rejecting the defective bars.
